One of the most interesting and undoubtedly essential parts of a wedding, as we all know, is the food. And we’re not just talking about the food served during the cocktail hour or dinner but also what might be placed on a specific table in the party area. You can recognize this mythical table by a small sign, often written by a calligrapher in English because, let’s face it, it always seems a bit cooler: "wedding gifts" or "wedding favors."

10 Food and Wine-Themed Wedding Favor Ideas
Are you planning your wedding and - panic - it’s time to think about gifts for your guests? We’ve baked up 10 food and wine-themed ideas that will entice even those who won’t be able to attend.

Choosing to create a favor for each guest isn’t a requirement, but it’s a special way to say thank you for being part of one of the most memorable days of your life. That’s why we’re saying goodbye to the same old boring gifts and opting for useful, delicious ones that cater to every taste:
- Mini bottles of wine or Prosecco
Let’s start with a bang, because toasting should never stop: gifting mini bottles of Prosecco DOC or other wines, perhaps your favorite or a special one you’ve discovered, is a great idea. You can personalize the label to match the wedding’s style, and on the back of the bottle, you could even write a dedication for your guests. The key is that it’s mini, so it can easily be taken on a plane. - Bottles of local extra virgin olive oil
We always prefer green gold over regular gold: especially if you're getting married in Tuscany or Puglia, gifting a small bottle of local extra virgin olive oil, perhaps produced at the wedding venue itself, is a must that your guests will never tire of. - Chocolate bars
This idea is not recommended for the hotter months like June, July, and August, but highly recommended for the rest of the year: create personalized chocolate bars with your names and the wedding date, or choose colorful bars like those from Ciokarrua in Modica IGP, available in various flavors. Your guests will be thankful! - Limoncello bottles
Made with real lemons from Sorrento, no less. Choosing limoncello as a wedding gift has become almost a trend, especially on the Amalfi Coast, although even Americans getting married in Italy want it, regardless of the region. - Homemade jams and preserves
Homemade jams and preserves are the kind of gift that will make moms, grandmas, aunts, and anyone who loves breakfast happy. Think about offering a variety of flavors so that each guest can choose their favorite. - Salt or spice blends
Flavored salt or a personalized spice mix is a creative and practical idea that will surely be appreciated: our suggestion is to create a blend that reflects your culinary style, or one for specific recipes, such as for grilling, fish dishes, or desserts. - Custom cookies
From American cookies to macarons or almond paste cookies: imagine it as a creative 'confettata' – with cookies instead of the usual confetti – that reflects the style and theme of your wedding. - Honey jars
We’re staying sweet and sticking with the jar format, this time with honey: acacia, wildflower, orange blossom, chestnut, sulla, or Manuka. Again, the key word here is personalization! - Taralli
Now think of a savory ‘confettata’ made with artisanal taralli: each guest can create their own little bag, or you can prepare the favors ahead of time with custom labels. Magn’t nu tarall ca pass tutt cos’! (Have a taralli and everything will be alright!) - Scented candles
Our last idea isn’t technically food, but it sure smells like it: custom candles, so your guests can associate your wedding with an olfactory memory too. We couldn’t leave you without suggestions like AglioOrsino or Moonlight Candles, or room sprays from London & Paris with scents of croissants, pain au chocolat, and brownies.
Now it’s up to you to decide which taste to gift your guests and make it your own!
