AgruMi: Knowledge and Flavors from the Mediterranean

The annual appointment with AgruMi 2024 is back, the market fair dedicated to the flavors and knowledge of the Mediterranean. The event is set for the weekend of February 10 and 11 at the beautiful Villa Necchi Campiglio. Over two days, visitors will be immersed in a world of vibrant colors and enchanting scents, discovering the rich universe of citrus fruits, learning their secrets, and savoring their aromas in every form.

The heart of the event will be the celebration of citrus fruits, the symbol of the Mediterranean that accompanies us in our daily lives with their unique taste and numerous properties. From lemons to mandarins, from oranges to grapefruits, the exhibition, set up in the villa's garden and covered tennis court, will feature not only fresh plants and fruits but also derivative products such as honey, mustards, cosmetics, and design furnishings.

AgruMi is not just an exhibition but a complete sensory experience, and the 2024 edition will be enriched with numerous activities suitable for both adults and children.

This year, there will be two major novelties: for the first time at the event, four special cooking classes dedicated to citrus fruits will be held, organized by Lady Chef, an association that is part of the Italian Federation of Chefs. During each three-hour session, participants will prepare a complete menu focusing on the citrus fruits characteristic of Puglia, Campania, Sicily, and Calabria, with the meal being the final and convivial part of the experience. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in a botanical photography workshop led by Marco Beck Peccoz, a professional specializing in detailed natural imagery (activities require advance booking and are fee-based).

The weekend will also feature book presentations and roundtable discussions, including the presentation of Francesco Pavesi's book Gli Agrumi dei Medici, about the collection that belonged to the Medici court, and a conversation with Giuseppe Barbera, author of the book Agrumi.

Finally, children will be able to take part in creative workshops where they will create Carnival masks inspired by citrus fruits, while parents can enjoy a stroll in the stunning setting of Villa Necchi.
